Beautiful 3D flash site
Just found this amazing site: The Eco Zoo. Really nice texturing and absolutely fluid animations. I haven’t seen any depths sorting problems, very impressive. I wonder if it’s Papervision or Away3D ;)

A different blog posting about this site states, that it uses a custom made engine. (http://richardleggett.co.uk/blog/index.php/2008/06/05/papervision_zoo_site_raises_the_bar)
I agree, it is the most convincing Flash 3d Website i have seen. It is beautifully designed + textured and very well executed.

ah, i forgot one thing: i discovered one minor z-sorting bug: in the “tree view” there are leafs floating upwards which sometimes overlap the tree incorrectly. but again, overall very impressive and the bug is very subtle.

It appears to use the M3D engine http://www.touchtao.com/technology.html

This is definitely not PV3D. Roxik (http://www.roxik.com) was involved in this project. It seems he used his own 3d implementation of 3d.
A little peek under the hood pointed to M3D, a OpenGL platform for mobile, Did he port it into AS3? lokks like it.
However he did it they pulled off a great site. With superb performance.

yes looks nice,
it’s an interesting mixture of 3D and 2D elements which fuse together nicely :).
The 2D hand drawings give the scene a touching realism in comparrison to the 3D textures.
I like this kind of playing around with styles.
